Gujarat’s first TRANSFEMORAL TRANSCATHETER AORTIC VALVE REPLACEMENT ( TAVR)( TAVI)  done successfully for severe Aortic Stenosis( Narrowed Aortic Valve)  by Dr Keyur Parikh  and CIMS  entire Cardiovascular  team on April 8th 2017  ,  to a patient awaiting Liver Transplant ( not operable for surgical aortic valve replacement ) who came to CIMS Hospital by ambulance from from Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, mumbai where they were denied liver transplant as well as heart surgery due to high surgical risk.

TAVR / TAVI – Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement. TAVR or TAVI stands for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement. It is an exciting technology that allows physicians to fix a severely narrowed aortic valve (aortic stenosis) without opening up the patient’s chest through leg artery through a tiny hole.
