Safety and Risk

Cardiac Catheterization is relatively safe. Yet, there is a small risk (1 in 1000) of bleeding, allergic reaction to the dye, etc. The possibility of sever complications like a heart attack, stroke or death is very low (about 1 in 2000) during the procedures. This is more likely in patients with a history of previous heart ailments.
